Economic, social, and environmental pressures compel an ever-growing percentage of the world's population to reside in marginal geographic zones—highly increasing their vulnerability to natural disasters. Transformational social and economic policies and programs are necessary to permit these people to mitigate existing and potential threats. AECOM's Crisis Response and Stabilization (CRS) identifies policies, actions, and tools that can be used by individuals, communities, and nations to prepare contingency plans for a range of events.
